For a majority of the first half Aug. 25 the Vandalia-Butler girls soccer team controlled the ball and kept Northmont pinned back defending its goal.
Northmont took awhile to adjust to the Lady Aviators' attack, which featured three players up front instead of the usual two, and the momentum began to shift.
