The Tomb of Tutankhamen
Friday, Mar. 14, 2 p.m.
The mystery of King Tut comes to the Charles I. Lathrem Senior Center with special speaker Dr. M.J. Albacete, Executive Director of the Canton Museum of Art and Adjunct Professor of Art History and Architecture at Kent State University.
This illustrated program follows archaeologist Howard Carter’s discovery, removal and conservation of items found in King Tutankhaman’s tomb - including the opening of the sarcophagus, untouched since Tut’s burial 3,300 years ago.
The program includes slide pictures of important artifacts found in the tomb, and new color slides from Dr. Albacete’s recent visit to Egypt.
This is a free program for members and non-members and is made possible by the Ohio Humanities Council, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. This is a free program.
Light refreshments will be served.
Register by Tuesday, March 11 to reserve your seat. (121530-B)

More than 21 million consumers have been affected by some sort of identity theft.

This free seminar is for CIL members and is presented by Day Air Credit Union. Call to reserve your seat. (121520-B)
All events are for Lathrem Center members unless otherwise noted. Non-members may purchase a $5 monthly guest pass to participate.
Homestead Tax Exemption
Seniors who didn’t apply for the homestead exemption last year - and the tax savings it means on bills now being mailed to property owners - will now get another chance to sign up.
County auditors throughout Ohio will again accept application for the homestead exemption through June 2.
Seniors who are already signed up do not need to reapply; the new enrollment period is designed primarily for those who were not previously eligible. The legislation generally allows all those 65 years and older, and permanently and totally disabled Ohioans, regardless of income, to exempt $25,000 of the market value of the home they owned and lived in on January 1 from property taxes.
Questions? Contact the Montgomery County Auditor at 937-225-4341.
