Here is another opportunity to learn a new skill or develop your painting or drawing ability at Rosewood Arts Centre this fall. A variety of classes are offered starting in September. All levels of ability are welcome in Drawing Studio, Oil Painting, Portrait & Figure Drawing, Beginning Acrylic Painting, Colored Pencil Drawing,.Right Brain Drawing, and Beginning Watercolor. Intermediate Watercolor with Leonard Williams and Watercolor with Emerick Malogorski are offered for those with some experience in watercolor painting.
Drawing Studio is offered on Thursdays, 6:30–8:30 p.m., Sept. 18–Oct. 23 by Loretta Puncer who received her BFA in Commercial Design from the University of Dayton. She has taught classes in drawing and other mediums
Oil Painting is offered on Mondays 6:30–9 p.m., Sept. 22-Oct. 27 and Portrait & Figure Drawing is offered Thursdays, 6-8:45 p.m., Sept. 25–Oct. 30 by Greg Dearth who graduated from Ohio University with a BFA degree. He has been a guest lecturer and instructor at the Columbus College of Art and Design and Atlanta’s Portfolio Center.
Beginning Acrylic Painting is offered on Wednesdays at 6–9 p.m., Sept. 10–Oct. 29 by J. Austin Jennings who has taught for Kettering Adult School and in her studio for nine years. She is an award-winning artist who has illustrated 11 children’s picture books.
Right Brain Drawing is also offered by J. Austin Jennings on Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Oct. 15 – Dec. 10.
Colored Pencil Drawing class is offered Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sept. 29–Nov. 17 by Tom Kinarney who is a former professional artist and has done freelance illustration for numerous companies locally and throughout the country. He has taught art for the last ten years at Riverbend Art Center and at the Fairborn Art Association.
Beginning Watercolor is offered on Wednesdays, 6 – 9 p.m., Sept. 10–Oct. 22 by Leonard Williams who has been working with watercolors for over 15 years. He has also created large-scale images such as the mural behind the Town and Country Centre.
Intermediate Watercolor is offered by Leonard Williams as well on Wednesdays, 6-9 p.m., Oct. 29–Dec. 17. Some experience with watercolor painting is required.
Watercolor is offered on Tuesdays, 9 a.m. - noon, Sept. 16–Nov. 4 by Emerick Malogorski who is best known for landscapes and still life paintings. Mr. Malogorski studied at the Dayton Art Institute and at the Cincinnati Academy of Art.
