This year’s Hometown Expo ‘09, “That Spring Thing”, is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Springboro High School. It will feature more than 150 exhibitors from area businesses, 136 members, 18 non-profit, and 9 food vendors. Each booth will offer free items and great prizes. The free children’s activities, free food samples, entertainment and a grand prize of a one-year family membership to Coffman Family YMCA, or any other Dayton area YMCA, with a value of $956, is sure to bring many to this true community event.
To make things easier on visitors this year a shuttle bus will transport those who park in the Dennis Elementary lot or the Junior High lot.
The Springboro Jr. ROTC and Make a Difference Club will help set up and take down the event in the North and South gyms. the Jr. ROTC will also offer coat check.
If the weather holds the scale model of the Wright B Flyer, which is housed at the Dayton-Wright Brother’s airport on Ohio 741, will be in front of the auditorium. That historic group will be giving away a membership in their organization, which includes an introductory flight in the Wright B Flyer.

Springboro Expo this Saturday
Springboro's Hometown Expo '09, "That Spring Thing", is scheduled for this Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Springboro High School, 1675 South Main Street (Ohio 741). It will feature more than 160 exhibitors from area businesses, 136 members, 18 non-profit, and 9 food vendors.
Each booth will offer free items valued at $25 or more that are drawn from entries at all times during the event. Come early for your best chance to win a prize. A large screen in the back of the small gym, booth 105, will hold a running list of winners. Those not present will be contacted if they won. This booth is where one enters for the grand prize.
Business promotional material and information hand outs are available at all booths. At Expo you are able to speak one on one with professionals in many areas ranging from early child care to funerals; fine art to furnace care. Booths fill both gyms and hallways with food and entertainment in the common/ cafeteria area. It is a great way to get out and meet with old friends after a long winter.
Entertainment will include: 10:15 a.m. Springboro Sixth Grade Band, 11 a.m Springboro Strings, 11:30 a.m. Springboro Junior High Jazz Band, noon Springboro High School Percussion Ensemble, 12:30 p.m. Mershad's Marshal Arts Student Demonstration, 1 p.m. Miami Valley Dance Academy, 1:30 p.m. Bishop Leibold School Chorus, 2 p.m. Override, 2:30 p.m. The Shards Band, and 3 p.m. Left of Five.
