DAYTON — Normandy Elementary students recently got to see first hand the art of making glass at the Dayton glass studio of local artist James Michael Kahle.
According to teachers, Kahle donated a glass vessel to the group of students. That vessel will be raffled off to make money to pay for the visit the following year. Students only pay for transportation since the district can not afford extra buses for field trips. The trip pays for itself and does not cost the district any money. It is all through the generosity of the artist and the hard work of Normandy art teacher Alice B. Tavani.
